Rui has an affinity for data, analysis and technical information. He draws on this in collecting and analysing data for risk transfer solutions, and in providing technical guidance regarding facultative and treaty placements.
He has extensive experience in, and knowledge of, insurance underwriting and claims in Southern Africa. This underscores his approach to developing and maintaining existing client relationships, as well as identifying new business prospects.
Previous experience in seed genetics and agricultural production have also given Rui a good understanding of agri businesses operating in Africa, and the challenges faced by the firms that insure them.
Selvina Vyapooree
Group Finance Manager
Selvina is the Group Accountant, responsible for both financial and technical accounting across the business, and is a member of the Reinsurance Solutions Audit & Risk Committee.
Having been part of the company for more than 14 years, Selvina manages the finance for six companies based in Mauritius, Kenya, Côte d'Ivoire and the UK, and works closely with the CEO and other executive directors in South Africa, Kenya, Abidjan and London.
Selvina has an Association of Chartered Certified Accountant (ACCA) Level Two qualification from the London School of Accountancy, and an ACCA Advanced Diploma in Accounting and Business. She also holds a Diploma in Business Administration, specialising in banking and financial services, from the Swami Dayanand Institute of Management.
Suraiya Kureemun Alladin
Executive Director, Claims, Compliance and Legal • Board Member
She draws on her diversified transactional experience within the insurance, financial services and retail sectors in overseeing Reinsurance Solutions' claims, compliance, and legal division.
She has more than six years' experience in re/insurance specifically, including a stint at Munich Mauritius Reinsurance Company, demonstrating an affinity for accurately assessing issues to adequately protect clients while still practically applying the law as it relates to the reinsurance sector.
Suraiya holds an LLB (Honours) from the University of Mauritius and completed her Bar Vocational (attorney) studies at the Council of Legal Education, where she was admitted as an Attorney-at-Law.
She is a member of the Mauritius Law Society, Insurance Institute of Mauritius, and the Mauritius Institute of Directors.
